Dom How
Dom How is an emerging artist originally from North London currently studying Fine Art at Northampton University. His work fluctuates in the space between figurative and abstract, with themes of personal and societal tragedy, outrage, loss and grief.
Large scale political murals influenced by Picasso, Kiefer and Basquiat; are juxtaposed against intimate introspective self portraits.
Working principally in oil but also charcoal, graphite, and print making; his works explore both on societal and personal scales the pathologies that self-sabotage us.
With his own experience of grief, addiction, widowhood and parenting, his work ranges from frank and visceral, to palimpsestic and untraceable.
Current works are focused on world events through the perspective of his own experience living in Colombia for 15 years and seeing the similar patterns of fascism there spread globally.
